This is from BBC’s “The Hunt”

It’s pretty great, basically planet Earth quality and only about hunting.

Love the chimp eating some leafs after taking a bite of monkey flesh. Gotta have a balanced diet.

*There’s no wrong way, to eat a Rhesus.*

Edit: This isn’t an original joke I made up so I’m not taking credit for it, just think it’s hilarious. I believe I read it in the comments of an old video where a bear riding a bike eats a monkey. No, I didn’t make that up either. Thanks for the gold though?

I’m bothered that the monkey’s transition from life to death is not covered. How do they kill it and do they kill it before they start ripping it apart?

Wow, those chimps look incredibly human in the close-up shots. Maybe my brain is just trying too hard to look for human facial expressions, but I feel like I can *see* them looking deep in thought.

I never knew chimpanzees ate monkeys.

    I thought they were friends.

This is the same thing I thought with seals/polar bears and penguins.

Exactly how setup is this? Or are some shots edited in after (like that lizard snake thing). The editing makes it feel like a Hollywood fight scene (as in: too many cuts to hide the setup).

The disturbing part wasn’t the hunting it was the eating. Chimps are especially brutal. They just sort of tear it apart until it happens to die, right?

If you haven’t seen this documentary, do it now, it’s an amazing look into Chimpanzee troop life and how fucking terrifying they are but also quite similar to humans.

How close is this to cannibalism? Can pathogens easily transfer at this level? What about ‘mad monkey disease’ – is it a thing? Just seems wrong for some reason.

    I REALLY hate chimpanzees

They’re incredibly aggressive, violent, murder, rape and gang rape, and they’re many times stronger than a human being. They’re carnivores with sharp ass teeth. I’m terrified of em.

You know, as amazing as the nature of wild animals are, can we all just take a moment to realize how ridiculous it was to capture all this footage without disturbing this event?

I mean, multiple cameras had to be placed in multiple areas that are predicted to see where these animals will be, then the editing team having to possibly go through hundreds if not thousands of hours to get this footage edited. Then the technology we have to capture footage at such a great quality and the technology to store such a large amount of data to record it all.

Nature is amazing, but so is technology.
