    > woman identifying herself as Mr Roysdon’s wife commented on Facebook to say that her husband had apologised, according to Fox 19.

    >“Everyone deserves a second chance **and is also entitled to their own opinion**,” she reportedly wrote.

So didn’t apologize at all then.

Just another example of keeping your thoughts to yourself.

    From the wife:

    >”Everyone deserves a second chance and is also entitled to their own opinion,”

True. And that second chance can be a fine establishment like KFC or a Dairy Queen.

I am a former firefighter – like my father before me.

The fire service in this country is dedicated to saving lives and property – in that order. Humans first. Always, every time, no exceptions. We make NO distinction between black, white, red, yellow, brown, or motherfucking blue. Humans first. Every human. Period.

    After that, pets and property.

There is no “rather”. There is no “prefer”. There is no qualifier. Human lives first. If you can get the pets out too, go ahead – but not at the expense of a human life. Ever. EVER!

This incident was posted in the firefighting subreddit a day or two ago, and the guy in question was universally condemned. Fuck him. He dishonored every firefighter with his racist bullshit. I hope he is never part of us again.

What is dumber? Being a ignorant racist or publishing your racist remarks where they can be used against you?

You do have the right to remain silent…

Yep, he is entitled to his own opinion, and future employers are also entitled to their right to tell him he’s a racist piece of shit before not hiring him.

Living near this area, to clarify for all the people who don’t read the article, he is 20 and a volunteer. That being said, there are more people in my area calling NAACP racists for getting him removed on the local WHIO article on FB than anything else. If there is anything i learned about ohio, its that I’m surrounded by ignorant bigots and racists more than I used to believe.

Wow. It doesn’t matter how much you apologize when you basically say you won’t save someone. That just means you shouldn’t be doing the job of saving people.

If the allegations are found to be accurate, this individual should immediately be dismissed and banned from serving in any capacity within the volunteer service.

even aside from the racism…how could a person be so stupid as to think posting something like that on Facebook was a good idea?

Take your pick of reasons to fire him, public display of racism, or public display of bone deep stupid.

If you listen to black comics earlier, that’s all they talked about. It’s not about the prejudice of one person…it’s the systematic prejudice. The majority of these guys never get “caught”.

Disgusting yes; surprising? Not at all.

Republicans don’t think someone should get fired for being a vicious racist, they think people should only get fired for failing to adhere to their employer’s evangelical beliefs.

Edit: They downvote because the truth hurts.

Reading that made me think, “Jesus Christ, what a fucking freak.” But the scariest part is how many seemingly regular people in our everyday lives harbor racist vitriol just like this dude, and you never even know unless they tip their hand.

I don’t see an issue here.

If you have any issue with doing your job (like saving people’s lives from a fire when you are a fire fighter) then you should be let go.

No apologies necessary. You just go on an be racist elsewhere.
