I power leveled my character through all of the skills one time. This of course included alchemy. I used all of best ingredients after about 40 hours of gameplay, and I now have literally hundreds of thousands of gold in potions I can’t sell because it takes too long.

Edit: I’d like to issue a PSA to all nord merchants. It seems there is a radical group attempting to sell to local merchants, save the game, kill them, then reload in order to exploit our hapless independent businessmen and women out of their hard earned coin. There are very many of them. Staying safe, I hope.

Magicka and stam potions will never be there when you need them.

    *never*

I don’t always use my stamina potions, but when I do I have to take all of them at once and still probably die

One time I was pretty bored and started a new character. I didn’t REALLY care to play like normal since I was in a bit of a gaming slump.

I had zero patience for hoarding/collecting and just treated everything I had as either something to be thrown out, sold, or used.

Ended up being one of the best gaming experiences – had a potion? Use it. Had a cool item I knew I really wouldn’t use no matter how cool it was? Sell or drop. Expensive magic spell or item? Use it on the small group of low-level bandits.

I was running lean and decadent at the same time – using everything I had and keeping absolutely nothing.

It feels damn good to use all those items you save “for a rainy day” and throw away all those “just in case” items. It’s liberating and frankly a lot more fun to just be loosey-goosey with all the items that were MEANT to be used.

I throw stamina potions off waterfalls. I horde magicka potions for boss fights that get desperate. But health potions? I’d kill my beloved Lydia for a health potion.

Hey, magicka potions are quite useful when playing as an atronach. The stamina one is useless though.

No. You take stock up on mana and stamina potions and sell them for a bunch of money.

Except when you realize that was actually your nasty witch’s brew you made to power level your alchemy, and now you have 30s of poison, fortify magicka, fortify restoration, and paralysis.

I just started a new save last night to play as a version of character that I won’t be able to use in Pathfinder campaign since it ended. I’ve made him be very stingy with what he picks up so far and I hope to keep that up throughout the play through.

Since I actually really like using magic, magicka potions actually are useful to me until I can get something that grants magicka regen. But yeah Stamina is pretty unnecessary, especially when you get some stamina regen or the Restoration perk that allows you to heal stamina.
