    How meta can western animation get!? We’ve already had [Mark Hamil being kidnapped by the Joker](https://youtu.be/EL-VHe_4GmE), the Ember Island Players, Teen Titans Go reacting to Teen Titans, and My Little Pony having a full episode referencing the fans and their memes to the point of [what is even happening](https://youtu.be/YDv7k6xk6xE)!

    What could possibly be next?

    EDIT: Added an example and reworded.

    All sorts of cartoons have been doing meta humor these last few years.

    Shouldn’t this be for shows that are far into their run?

    The animation transition from clean to Rusty drawing is unique I guess.

    I remember when Steven Universe had the episode Know Your Fusion that was one giant fourth wall break. They talked about paying the voice actor for Sugalite.

    I’ve never heard of this show, but I got a kick out of this because there used to be a ‘seafood’ restaurant in my hometown called Lakewood Plaza, located in a strip mall also called Lakewood Plaza. It was the kind of place where everything was deep fried and even the vegetables would clog your arteries. And if you ever went *inside* the restaurant instead of picking up your order from the drive through window everybody you encountered over the following three days would know exactly where you had been.

    Anyway, they got shut down three times for health code violations, but my dad found a pearl in one of the fried oysters once, so that was pretty cool.

    Teen titans go! had an episode where they watched their own show (the original version) and talked about how much cooler they all were and that it should have never been taken off the air.

    It seem like a lot of people from Steven Universe are involved in production of this show, isn’t it?

    When I first saw OK KO, I was surprised. It’s a damn good show, definitely one of the best cartoons on tv right now. I love how it makes tons of video game and dbz references

    Kinda like the Christmas South Park episode where the boys make a cartoon for the town to encourage everyone to get more into the holiday spirit, and the cartoon that they make is the Jesus vs. Frosty short that was essentially the pilot for the series.

    Teen Titans GO! had a few episodes that went pure meta. Quite a sight to behold.

    Lol I remember seeing this pilot on Youtube a few years ago! I always knew it would get a tv series eventually!
    Original pilot -> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9g-dCwTBpfA

    I did not expect ***Uncle Grandpa*** to get a series too. The pilot was much better than the tv series.
    Hope they didn’t ruin OK KO like they did Uncle Grandpa.
