My previous dog, a beagle/foxhound mix named Bentley, would forcefully make his way into the bathtub when I showered. He was a destroyer of anything reachable, so I’d put him in the bathroom while I took a shower so he didn’t tear stuff up downstairs. He would bite the shower curtain to pull it open, and then climb in the other side where the drain is, and just lay down. He just liked the hot shower water for some reason. And it was human-standards hot so it must have been like a sauna for him. I still don’t know why he liked it. Strange pupper.

Such a good doggo! My dog used to love getting baths until my husband “helped” and tried to flip him on his back and he almost drowned in 5 inches of water. The look in his eyes when he did that, I’ll never forget. Pure fear and the look of betrayal.
Now I’m the only one who gives him baths.

How shower on a cold morning? You could do this to CATS, and they’d stand still for it.

Wow, that’s a well trained pup. My dog would drink the water till she was full and then start eating the shower head, the hose, the tub, the bathroom and so on until the whole house was gone.

The vet says she’s an aggressive chewer.

Goldens are water dogs. I’ve had 5, and they all loved lakes, rivers, and (sadly), mud puddles. A couple of my Goldens were rescue dogs that, prior to me adopting them, lived in a big outdoor area with kiddie wading pools all around…at least in the summer. But none of them ever seemed to like to take baths…just tolerated it.
