The half-erection I used to get as I watched my level 19 Magikarp hit level 20 after a hard-fought battle is a fond memory I cherish to this day.

For me it was finding a Feebas and making it “beautiful” enough in Hoenn to evolve into a Milotic.

So young me didn’t know about the daycare, and spent approximately 900 hours with Magikarp in my first slot, switchingnout at the start of each fight to get half exp.

For me the best sense of accomplishment in pokemon was when your Dragonair finally evolved into Dragonite or Pupitar in Tyranitar.

Yes nothing screams sense of pride and accomplishment like dumping you’re magikarp in a daycare

    This is my daily motivation.

If you’re ever feeling down and worthless just remember, every little useless magikarp turns into a motherfucking Gayrados someday.

It sucked until you got Magikarp to level 15. Once it had tackle, and it could fight its own fights, things got easier

Whenever my friends and I have gotten into a discussion about the best Pokemon, I always hand it over to Magikarp/Gyarados.

I think it’s the most magical Pokemon. It in and of itself is like a fairytale. You, a child, go out fishing. You catch a carp, and boy, is it stupid-looking. Not only that, but it is weak and pretty much useless. But somehow, you keep it with you. You don’t give up on it. You care for this dolt of a fish for a long time. And then, one day, it evolves… INTO A FREAKING DRAGON Y’ALL

You’re kidding right? Pride and accomplishment can only be felt through micro transactions.

*you can leave it the level it was before evolving, or pay 200 poke-credits for a chance at a higher level! Just a reminder that there will be a 3 hour cooldown period before you can evolve again. For only 750 credits, get another evolve token to go now, or 2000 credits to get a week free of evolve cooldowns!*

Oh the grind. Dropping a lvl 5 Magikarp off at the daycare and using a rare candy at lvl 19.

Not if you play magikarp jump! Then you can start all over again.

At least you can get an achievement for neglecting magikarp so Theres that 😛

Doubtful. No one levels their own magikarp. That’s what the daycare is for.

I actually started playing Pokemon again after wondering “what IS the most fulfilling game I’ve played?”

My Cyndaquil is level 14 now.

Should be saying ‘Unfortunately… Your Magikarp evolved into Gyarados. RIP.’

Fast forward in the top left, is this on a emulator? Lose that pride and accomplishment when you make it 16x speed to train. And sounds like a feature EA would sell in a turn based game
