Whether it’s due to the strangely enticing name, the gentle formula, the satisfying texture or a combination of all three, Glossier’s Milky Jelly Cleanser is one of the brand’s best-loved products. Which is why the arrival of the new Milky Oil has created more excitement on the Vogue beauty desk than the average beauty launch.
Created with micellar water, pro-vitamin B5 and comfrey root extract, Milky Oil is a bi-phase formula packaged in a squeezy bottle with a precision tip – sort of like a particularly chic baby’s bottle – and millennial pink labelling. Designed to remove waterproof make-up, the oil/micellar blend works best when shaken up and squeezed onto a cotton pad and pressed against the eyes or lips before gently sweeping away make-up. It’s also ophthalmologist-approved, vegan and cruelty-free, and perfect for sensitive types.
And does it work? We found the silky formula gentle on the skin and effective at dissolving make-up, leaving eyelids clean and soft. Plus it looks so cute on your bathroom shelf (why have all eye make-up removers, up until now, been blue?). In fact, our only criticism is that we can see ourselves getting through the teeny 100ml bottle pretty quickly. Putting in our request for a bumper-sized bottle now.
