While it was all about demure diamond earrings at the BAFTAs, over at the Grammys in Los Angeles, it was all about the armoured drama of diamond necklaces. Lady Gaga wore more than 100 carats of Tiffany diamonds alone. Her necklace from the jeweller’s Blue Book Collection took more than a year to create and was the perfect match for her disco ball-inspired Celine by Hedi Slimane gown. Dua Lipa was another star who opted for maximum sparkle when she chose a wide diamond necklace from Bulgari to compliment her silver gown. Alicia Keys wore a necklace from the Italian jeweller in mother-of-pearl and diamonds.
When Cardi B wasn’t breaking the internet with her pearly Botticelli’s Venus-inspired dress by Thierry Mugler, she performed on stage wearing an angular collar of diamonds from Messika. Other looks of note included Tracie Ellis Ross who paired her apple green Ralph & Russo Couture suit with Lorraine Schwartz emerald earrings while Janelle Monae demonstrated that the mismatched earrings trend is still very much alive with contrasting Tiffany Hardwear gold earrings.
